What makes the Grav such a star?

Horticulturists say its tripple chromosome has the strongest will to survive of any apple. Our Gravs, many 100 years old with 30 foot canopies, are grown in Sonoma County's hot dry climate. We purposely don't irrigate. Forcing the trees to seek moisture builds character, crunch and intensifies aroma and flavor.

Created from Sebastopol's own gravenstein apples, this unfiltered organic pasteurized apple juice is a favorite of many of our customers. Squeezed from fresh, whole, ripe organic gravensteins. Especially delightful for those of you who prefer a less 'sweet' apple juice, this terrific tasting juice has a natural tart edge to it.

Where and how our apples are grown

Why these products generate consumer loyalty and high repeat sales

Why these fruits taste great

Why Organic?

* * * * *

There are few spots on Earth with our ideal growing conditions:

Sonoma County's climate is famous for - not just growing grapes - but apples too. We have an extremely long and slow growing season (April-November) of warm days, cool nights, very little rainfall in summer and acidic soil. These conditions combine to dramatically increase flavor, a satisfying grainy crunchiness, and aromatic oil essences.

Why these products generate consumer loyalty and high repeat sales.

Since 1979, customers have told us our products taste great. They call and gush. They write fan letters. We have won several taste tests over larger national competitors. Customers trust us to grow, harvest and process in strict accordance with State/Federal organic regulations. People relate to us as "the apple guys" - authentic farmers they can trust to keep chemicals off their plate.

Ever had fruits that looked great but tasted blah?

That's because many commercial farms rush fruits to market before they are ready. Their marketers select 'shipper' apples for skin color uniformity, to stir impulse buys. Our apple trees signal us when the time is ripe by dropping at peak flavor, texture and aroma.

Why bother "Going Organic?"

Organic is now a multi-billion dollar market. Health conscious consumers say, "I like the 'organic alternative' from my neighborhood store." General consumers tend to eventually follow the true organic types - from the civil rights causes and anti-war sentiments - to the current cause of food safety and personal health responsibility.

Whether you are a consumer or a reseller, 'bother going organic', because it's not secret that chemical farm sprays have been implicated in cancer, birth defects, aand nervous system disorders. EPA admits they " ...registered many pesticides BEFORE their harm was proven...and chemical phase-outs can take as long as four years." That is why you are increasingly hearing others say...

"No thanks. Make mine organic!"
